Sushi & babies

IMG_7229-2kopie

A couple of weekends ago, our neighbors invited us for sushi. I tried this once and was very sick after, but after seeing how much everyone loves sushi and knowing that our host was Japanese herself, I decided to give it another shot. They bought fresh fish, rice and avocado and the guys actually made the sushi voor the girls. It was delicious! The babies loved the rice too. You can probably imagine that the rice was EVERYWHERE, right?! Eating sushi is difficult for someone like me who never before ate with chopsticks, so I made a pretty big mess myself. In the end I became better at it though and I was so happy to give this meal another try! Can’t wait to have it again! Continue reading

Climbing to freedom

DSC_1883

When you’re driving around in the Joshua Tree park all you see around you are trees, cacti and rocks. A lot of rocks. When arriving there all I could think about was that I really wanted to climb on those rocks and get views that were even more amazing than the views we had from the ground. My friend Coline and I decided to climb all the way up and the view didn’t disappoint at all. Even though it’s pretty dangerous to climb there and even though there is so much risk to fall or to hurt yourself, we did pretty well and the views were amazing. I got some scratches on my hands and knees during the climb, but I had my adventurous moment and I felt free on there, FREE! 😉

I saw amazing things as I was standing there and I was thinking how happy I am to be living in California and to be able to travel around with amazing people. I’m living the life guys and I couldn’t have been happier! Continue reading

Sunsets & Friends

DSC_0733

I’ve said it many times already, but this place is heaven on earth. California has the most gorgeous sunsets and driving off to the beach to watch the sunset after a busy day is just one of those things that give your day a perfect ending. For some of you, it might not always be possible to go to the beach, but if you have the chance to go and it’s not too far away, I highly recommend you to just stop making excuses and to just go for it!  Continue reading

Cake Lover

DSC_0380

After all the latest travel posts, I decided that it was time to share some more pictures of people/kids. Kids are always my favorite photography subject. They are cute, spontaneous and they often really like being in pictures. I took all these pictures on Slaiden’s first birthday party. I personally love the pictures of the babies eating cake and the pictures of Slaiden with his cousins Ashley and Logan. They are super cute and sweet kids and they love their baby cousin! Superbowl madness

DSC_0524

Football is a great part of the American culture. As I mentioned on the blog in one of my previous messages, the people I live with watch lots of football. Weekend means relaxing, meeting up with friends and neighbors and watching football all day long. Past Sunday was the most important game day of the year for football lovers, the SuperBowl.  Continue reading

My first Thanksgiving

DSC_8600

Last week, I celebrated my first Thanksgiving. It was a wonderful experience, with friends that feel like family. I love how easily those people I celebrated it with let me into their family. I feel so comfortable with them and I’m incredibly thankful for having experienced it with them. I stayed in Palm Desert for the whole Thanksgiving week and it was so amazing! We had the yummiest food all week long! Continue reading

Venice Beach Photography date

DSC_8459

On Saturday I had a full girls day and I had so much fun! First I went exploring Santa Monica with Stacy, my neighbor Kiko and the babies. I’ll post the pictures of Santa Monica in one of my next blog posts. After that, I met up with my girlfriends in Venice. Both Yael and Amy are passionate about photography, so it was really nice taking pictures together and helping each other out with our cameras! Continue reading

The Real Housewives of Parker (Arizona)

Parker

Two weeks ago, I went to Parker, in Arizona, to spend the weekend with a bunch of friends of the people I live with. We stayed in a mansion, which was a great experience. I named this post The Real Housewives of Parker because the house were we stayed could have been the house of one of the housewives. It had 9 bedrooms and a lot of space, if you know what I mean. The house was right at the river, so during the weekend we had time to do some tanning, jet skiing, waterskiing and of course to just enjoy the gorgeous view. It was my second time in Arizona. In 2009 I visited Phoenix with my parents and I must say that I love this state so far.

Pink Brunch

Pink Brunch

Exactly 1 month ago my friends and I organized a pink brunch just for the girls! The concept is really simple: You bring all the yummiest stuff with you and try to have a touch of pink in all of it! We had fruits, freshly squeezed orange juice, pancakes, cupcakes, bagels with salmon and Philadelphia… Ok not everything was pink, but at least we tried!
