Haleakala (Maui, Hawaii)

Haleakala National Park was high on my list, after hearing about it when I first arrived in Maui. The third day I was on the island I actually decided to drive to the park, even though it was pouring rain. When I finally arrived after a 2h drive I ended up sitting in front of a closed gate. The drive was pretty rough and so foggy that I could barely see a meter in front of me. In the end I had to drive all the way back down and I came back a day later to visit. Continue reading

Road to Hana (Maui, Hawaii)

Late July, for the first time in months, I found myself in a place where I had some free time. It was probably the first time since my 3 year stay in the U.S. that I had no one expect me to be back at work at a certain time. I was free to do whatever and it felt great! I decided to take advantage of my friend’s stand-by plane tickets and to just go somewhere I’ve always wanted to go to. I decided Oahu, in Hawaii, would be a great spot to explore.  Continue reading

Roatan

roatan (7 of 8)

Roatan is one of those places you go to just to relax. There is not too much sightseeing to do on the island itself, but the sightseeing you can do under water is endless. I’m not a diver, so I just love this island just to chill, empty my head and have some me-time while drinking a cocktail on the beach.

One of my favorite moments of the trip was that day when we went paddle boarding. I had never done this before, but I had been looking for a while to try it out! When my friends told me that that was what we were gonna be doing that day, I was thrilled. It was just so relaxing to stand and sit on that board, while soaking up the sun and enjoying the beautiful surroundings.  Continue reading

Island life

After showing you the underwater sights and some portraits of the locals, I wanted to share some pictures of the island itself with you today. The islands and cays are just so beautiful. There are coconuts hanging on the trees, iguanas and different kinds of snakes living silently in the sand and trees, beautiful white sandy beaches and the bluest water surrounding the islands.  Continue reading

The cutest boy in the cutest swim shorts

BPkopie

Since we’re living in California and we’re spending a lot of time at the beach, it’s essential for the baby to have lots of swim gear! Whenever I say ‘beach’ Slaiden runs off to the remote of the garage to open it, so I can get his stroller and his little bucket out of there. As we come closer to the beach he will point at the water and once I get him out of the stroller he’s on the loose! Continue reading
