Silhouette of happiness

Silhouette family (3 of 4)

Photography is not all about people looking cute, having a nice smile or being photogenic. For me it’s more about capturing moments and seeing happiness in people without even seeing their facial expression. I love this picture because it has everything what I just said. It’s a young family who took their 2 year old and 1 month old out to see the sunset. It’s little moments like this that make life so beautiful. The kids might not remember this moment, but when they look back at this picture in a couple of years, they will be able to see how great it is to enjoy the little things in life with ones you love.  Continue reading

Perfection

Beach 15-01 (10 of 16)

Home is not a place. It’s a feeling!

Ever since the beginning of the year, we’ve been trying to go see as many sunsets as possible and they have been amazing. I’ve seen all kinds of gorgeous ‘paintings in the sky’. The sky just gets a mix of pink, blue, purple and yellow and it’s hard not to be amazed by its beauty.  Continue reading

Friends who feel like family

BP-3kopie

I’m from a family with 3 girls. I’m the oldest one and have a sister who’s 1 year younger and one who’s 4 years younger. Even though in theory I have 2 sisters, I feel like I have 3 sisters. In 2009, I lived in Honduras for a year and the family a lived with had 3 boys and a girl. The little girl was just a baby back then, but I fell in love with her the moment I met her.  Continue reading

Put the baby in the backpack

DSC_4633-2kopie

Hiking in the rain forest with a baby is not a mission impossible. Slaiden loved hanging out on daddy’s back. When he started to get fussy, we just picked things, like pine cones, up from the floor and gave it to him to distract him. When he was sick of those, we just let him out of the backpack and he started running around and absolutely loved everything about being surrounded by trees that seemed to come straight from the fairytales.  Continue reading

Wine tasting in Los Olivos

DSC_3137-2kopie

After my half marathon I had the time to explore the wine country and its wineries in the Santa Barbara area. Paul and Stacy took me to a couple of wineries where I did some wine tasting. I was never a very big fan of red wine (I might have been too young for it!), but I feel like now I start appreciating my glass of wine every now and then.  Continue reading

Cake Lover

DSC_0380

After all the latest travel posts, I decided that it was time to share some more pictures of people/kids. Kids are always my favorite photography subject. They are cute, spontaneous and they often really like being in pictures. I took all these pictures on Slaiden’s first birthday party. I personally love the pictures of the babies eating cake and the pictures of Slaiden with his cousins Ashley and Logan. They are super cute and sweet kids and they love their baby cousin! Superbowl madness

DSC_0524

Football is a great part of the American culture. As I mentioned on the blog in one of my previous messages, the people I live with watch lots of football. Weekend means relaxing, meeting up with friends and neighbors and watching football all day long. Past Sunday was the most important game day of the year for football lovers, the SuperBowl.  Continue reading

Let the wind blow through your hair

DSC_9705

We all know that kids grow incredibly fast. I can’t believe it’s been almost 2 years ago that my cousin was born. She was such a tiny, little creature and now she is such a big girl who is walking all by herself, who knows how to do the sounds of animals and who’s just so sweet and loving!

I decided to pay her a visit last week, so that we could have some quality time before I leave to the US for a year. We went out for a walk and she absolutely loved it! We walked in this cute neighborhood where there are lots of empty fields and where lots of farmers live. I loved it, because places like that are perfect for doing a little photo shoot!  Continue reading

My first Thanksgiving

DSC_8600

Last week, I celebrated my first Thanksgiving. It was a wonderful experience, with friends that feel like family. I love how easily those people I celebrated it with let me into their family. I feel so comfortable with them and I’m incredibly thankful for having experienced it with them. I stayed in Palm Desert for the whole Thanksgiving week and it was so amazing! We had the yummiest food all week long! Continue reading
