La Perouse (Maui, Hawaii)

You might think it’s a lot, to have to read 2 blog posts in a week. I used to blog 3 to 4 times a week for months at one point and I loved doing it and I also liked having a ‘journal’ to look back at instead of just a bunch of pictures without written memories.  Continue reading

Road to Hana (Maui, Hawaii)

maui-41-of-422

Late July, for the first time in months, I found myself in a place where I had some free time. It was probably the first time since my 3 year stay in the U.S. that I had no one expect me to be back at work at a certain time. I was free to do whatever and it felt great! I decided to take advantage of my friend’s stand-by plane tickets and to just go somewhere I’ve always wanted to go to. I decided Oahu, in Hawaii, would be a great spot to explore.  Continue reading

On the road

The internet is running slow here in Honduras, but since I have nothing else to do I decided to share this picture that I took in Washington last month. If you have read about my Washington road trip already, you probably already know that I’m obsessed with this state. Everything is just so pretty and peaceful, even the roads. Before moving to California I remember that I would spend many evenings browsing through Pinterest and WeHeartIt and I’d stumble upon really cool travel quotes pasted on gorgeous pictures with clean roads in the middle of nature.

Rialto Beach

Rialto Beach is probably the most unique looking beach that I’ve ever seen. The kind of beach that you’d see in a good movie and that makes you dream about being more adventurous and going to places that look like this place. Living in California, I’m used to white sandy beaches with hot surfers every few meters, so this was something totally different. Black sand, tall trees, driftwood everywhere, the most amazing rocks in every shade of grey and little islands that you could see through the foggy landscape.  Continue reading

Olympic National Park

DSC_4386-2kopie

After we arrived in Seattle last Tuesday, we went straight to Worldmark Discovery Bay, where we stayed for a couple of days. The day after we arrived, we went to the Olympic National Park for an amazing hike in the mountains. Paul took Slaiden with him in the backpack, so he did a hell of a workout! The views were gorgeous. I saw mountains, Hurricane Ridge, snow, deer and thousands of the tallest trees.  Continue reading

Travel typography

Wanderlust-6

This semester I took a couple of art classes and among those was a Lettering and Typography class. For one of the last assignments we had to pick a quote and chose a word that described the quote and we had to present it in a typographic way, which basically means that we couldn’t use images to illustrate the word. The streets of Santa Barbara

Slaiden One 1-18

When I’m traveling to a new city, my favorite way to explore is to either drive or walk around in the city. Tours and touristic attractions can be so much fun, but they often don’t give you the opportunity to be creative as a photographer. Most of the time, I’m not really interested in photographing the touristic attractions. I mean, when you’re in Paris, you need that picture of you standing in front of the Eiffel Tower and when you’re in New York City, you obviously need a picture of you standing on Times Square. I’m like that! I want a picture of myself standing in front of something that makes people know in which city you are. Continue reading

Plane ride to a new chapter

Travel 0701

This whole week has been a total rush, seriously. On Monday I wanted to say goodbye to some friends and I wanted to go eating to my favorite spaghetti place in Ghent (de Kastart). I also wanted to check out the shopping street to see if I could do some sales, but since most of the things that were for sale were warm and cosy winter clothes, I decided to save my money instead, because everyone knows that you don’t need a super warm sweater if you’re going to live in the LA area, right?! Venice Beach Photography date

DSC_8459

On Saturday I had a full girls day and I had so much fun! First I went exploring Santa Monica with Stacy, my neighbor Kiko and the babies. I’ll post the pictures of Santa Monica in one of my next blog posts. After that, I met up with my girlfriends in Venice. Both Yael and Amy are passionate about photography, so it was really nice taking pictures together and helping each other out with our cameras! Continue reading

Wanderlust

Wanderlust

Wanderlust is a word that fully describes the way I am. I wish I could live that word every day.

What I love to do is to watch and share pictures I take while discovering new places. When looking back at those pictures I feel these strong and happy memories of what were the best days of the year.

The 3 C’s I’ve never been to that are on the top of my list for visiting are:

1. The Coast line of California
2. Costa Rica
3. Canada

What is your dream destination to wander? 😉

xoxo
