Haleakala (Maui, Hawaii)

Haleakala National Park was high on my list, after hearing about it when I first arrived in Maui. The third day I was on the island I actually decided to drive to the park, even though it was pouring rain. When I finally arrived after a 2h drive I ended up sitting in front of a closed gate. The drive was pretty rough and so foggy that I could barely see a meter in front of me. In the end I had to drive all the way back down and I came back a day later to visit. Continue reading

Silhouette of happiness

Silhouette family (3 of 4)

Photography is not all about people looking cute, having a nice smile or being photogenic. For me it’s more about capturing moments and seeing happiness in people without even seeing their facial expression. I love this picture because it has everything what I just said. It’s a young family who took their 2 year old and 1 month old out to see the sunset. It’s little moments like this that make life so beautiful. The kids might not remember this moment, but when they look back at this picture in a couple of years, they will be able to see how great it is to enjoy the little things in life with ones you love.  Continue reading

Yosemite National Park

Yosemite (59 of 72)

I drove to Yosemite in December to explore this gorgeous national park. It was probably the coldest weekend of the month, cause I was literally freezing. I would go explore for an hour and then go back to the car to warm up for a while. It was amazing though. I saw a bobcat, deer, many birds and many other amazing things that make this country so beautiful. Of course I explored the whole park with my camera close by me the whole time. I loved just wandering around and snapping pictures of what I thought was beautiful. It’s so important to do the things you love and to make time for them. Photography and traveling are my biggest passions and I love that with the life I’m living I can take the time to continue doing what I love. Continue reading

Please don’t make me put on chains!

Sequoia (6 of 17)

How many of you are girls and have (just like me) no clue how to put chains on the wheels of your car when it’s snowing heavily? It had been hot the whole month of December in California, so the last thing I thought I’d have to do is to drive in the snow. Of course, two days before my road trip a snow storm passed through Sequoia and there I was, stressing out about having to put those chains on my rental car. I never had to actually put them on, thank God, but it gave me a good amount of stress.  Continue reading

Sequoia National Park

Sequoia (17 of 17)

About 2 weeks before Strider was born, I was on my winter break and decided to take little trip to Yosemite and Sequoia. I had been wanting to see those national parks for a while now, but I never seemed to find the time. I planned the trip very last minute, rented a car 2 days before I left and I must say, it was one of the coolest trips I’ve made to date.  Continue reading

It’s starting to look a lot like Christmas!

IMG_3503

I was browsing through the Internet and stumbled upon this quote. Even though I’m not a mom, I love the way this lady put her thoughts into words. I thought about me growing up and about all the memories we created during the holidays and it immediately put a smile on my face. Living in the US with a young family, I love how they are building up and creating their own traditions! Continue reading

Maty’s Healthy Products

Maty's Health Products (2 of 9)

Today’s post is dedicated to some of the Maty’s Healthy Products that I love to use for both Slaiden and myself. I tested out 3 products. My favorite one was the baby chest rub, which was basically the same thing as the All Natural Vapor Rub that I use for myself. Slaiden loves our little ritual of putting the cream on his chest and he loves doing it himself. I’m sure it feels good too, because he comes to me several times a day with the little box in his hands and wants me to open it so he can put on some more. I love how careful he is with it! He just puts a tiny bit of cream on his little finger and then kinda dips it on his skin. Very cute.

Looking for pine cones on the trail

Trail (5 of 10)

Back in October when the leaves started coming off the trees and there were pine cones everywhere, I took Slaiden and his bear to the trail close to our house and let him run around free and enjoy the nature. I remember that back when I was little I loved playing with all the leaves and the other things I found on the ground outside. Of course I was a little older than him from what I remember, but knowing how active he is I knew it would be the perfect activity.  Continue reading
