Fish & tajaditas

omoa (4 of 5)

During my 2,5 week stay in Honduras, I went to Omoa twice. Omoa isn’t a known place among tourists, but the locals love it and they know all about the best places to eat, the cleanest beaches and the most charming little spots to explore. Eduardo took me to this amazing fish restaurant with a beach view and I must say, it was perfect. The food was delicious, the natural juices that they were serving were very rico and the little sea breeze made the whole setting even better.  Continue reading

Recipe: My favorite breakfast

DSC_2298

I won’t call myself a good cook, but I make the best breakfasts. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day and I don’t only want to start the day with a breakfast that tastes good, I also want it to look good! I’m always pretty proud on my breakfast bowl creations and I like to share them on my social media too. I think it’s fun to always try to add different ingredients on regular oatmeal so I wanted to share with you which toppings I used for this bowl. Continue reading

Recipe: Lemon Cheesecake Quest Bar Cups

Slaiden One 1-4

Do you ever have cravings for a healthy snack that contains protein and that doesn’t make you feel guilty after eating it? I wanted to make a raw cheesecake for a while now, but I also wanted to use quest bars because since I’m a runner, I could use the extra protein from protein bars. I decided to combine the two things I wanted to make and what you see in the picture is the result of it! 😉 Continue reading

Welcome in cupcake heaven

A couple of months ago, Stacy brought some cupcakes home. The red velvet ones. I had never tried this taste before but I instantly loved it! They also had the best frosting on top and inside! So delicious! The weeks after she kept bringing me a cupcake every once in a while and I got so curious to see this little shop where she got them!

Last week we finally went to Susie Cakes in Manhattan Beach and I loved it! They had various types of cakes, cookies and cupcakes and everything looked delicious and really really pretty!  Continue reading

My first Thanksgiving

DSC_8600

Last week, I celebrated my first Thanksgiving. It was a wonderful experience, with friends that feel like family. I love how easily those people I celebrated it with let me into their family. I feel so comfortable with them and I’m incredibly thankful for having experienced it with them. I stayed in Palm Desert for the whole Thanksgiving week and it was so amazing! We had the yummiest food all week long! Continue reading

Healthy chicken salad

DSC_8829

Since we didn’t stay at home during thanksgiving week, we came home to a house with an almost empty fridge. There were some leftovers inside, so I decided to use them for a semi healthy lunch salad! The only things in there that you might see as unhealthy are the pasta and the pesto, even though I chose to use whole-wheat pasta. Continue reading

Thanksgiving inspiration

20131125-161350.jpgIt’s that time of the year again… Thanksgiving week! It’s my first thanksgiving ever and I’m so excited! Yesterday we drove from Redondo Beach to Palm Desert as we are going to spend this holiday in the desert.

As for what they told me, thanksgiving week means lots of YOLO-food. And as the people who know me know, I’m all in for YOLO-food! 😉 For the last couple of weeks I have been running a lot and I was planning to continue working out as much as I could here too, because the place where we are staying at has the nicest gym! Unfortunately I’m injured and I just can’t run! I should go see a doctor, but I haven’t had time for that. Also I’m afraid of what he might say, because I love running and working out and I don’t want to put that on hold. On thursday we are going to do a 5k turkey run in Palm Springs, for which I’m super excited, and if my back isn’t better by the end of the week, I’ll go for a check up! 😉 Anyway my point is, I deserved a YOLO-week full of my favorite food.

I’m in charge of the mashed potatoes and the appetizers and what’s a better place to look for inspiration than Pinterest? 😉

How do you decide on the things you’re going to make? Where do you guys celebrate this holiday?

xoxo
