Review: Flap Jacked Protein Pancake Mix

DSC_1072

Those who read yesterday’s post about the amazing Bulu Box, probably saw that there was a Protein Pancake Mix included in the box. I tried them out and topped them with agave and blueberries, as you can see on the picture!

The pancakes were really easy to make. You basically just have to add a little water to the mix and bake them. One package is good for 6 to 8 pancakes, so you can easily make a protein rich breakfast for 2 with the mix. Continue reading

Raw vegan berry ice cream with healthy chocolate sauce

DSC_9992

With last week’s hot temperatures in LA, I was craving ice cream! I’ve been so good on the running though that I didn’t want to mess everything up by going to 7/11 to buy Ben & Jerry’s. I decided to try out a healthy recipe instead. I’m really interested in the raw vegan lifestyle and I’m following a bunch of raw vegan peeps on Instagram. They inspired me to try out this recipe. I hope you all enjoy it! Let me know what’s your favorite raw or vegan recipe in the comments below and maybe I try it out and feature it on the blog (and give you credit for it by posting the link to your blog)! Pink smoothie

DSC_9491

Hi everyone,

Today’s post is all about health. I’ve listed several new years resolutions for myself and among them there are those typical resolutions about being healthier. I always put those in there, and even though I think I was pretty healthy this year, I’m going to do even better next year.

I figured it didn’t make sense to wait till 2014 to eat/drink more vitamins, so I decided to make my first smoothie today already. I made this recipe up, and I hope there will be many other recipes to follow in the next couple of months. Continue reading

Healthy chicken salad

DSC_8829

Since we didn’t stay at home during thanksgiving week, we came home to a house with an almost empty fridge. There were some leftovers inside, so I decided to use them for a semi healthy lunch salad! The only things in there that you might see as unhealthy are the pasta and the pesto, even though I chose to use whole-wheat pasta. Continue reading

Motivational Monday: Time

20130909-190944.jpg

Today’s quote is so true and I sometimes recognize myself in it. But indeed, what’s 30 minutes of training if it can make you feel happy for a lifetime?!

I’m almost off to my Pilates class which I love because its a 1 hour full body workout! It will be my last class for a while now so I’m going to enjoy it for sure!

Get out of your couch and go running for half an hour! I promise it will make you feel better! If its raining and you don’t like rain then look for Blogilates on YouTube and do three of her videos! 😉

Happy Monday!

Orange

I love having healthy snacks! I have to admit that I often eat unhealthy! I have this paprika crisps addiction and I can just start eating them until I finish a whole bag!

Ok, I admitted my YOLO-addiction but as I said I do love healthy snacks too! This time I chose to go for an orange snack! I made fresh orange juice and cut some additional oranges to eat just like that and that combined with reading a book made it a perfect afternoon to me!
