Drive through San Francisco

SF (3 of 11)

During last month’s road trip we made a very quick stop in San Francisco as it was on our way to Slaiden’s grandparents. We basically drove through and saw the iconic bridge, Lombard Street and some view points. After having taken a couple of pictures like that, we parked the car and walked by the water. I loved seeing all the sea lions by Pier 39, but I couldn’t believe the amount of tourists I saw (I believe we were there on a Wednesday!).

My first impression of this city was so positive. The houses and buildings are very charming and pretty European looking. I love that this big city is situated right by the water and this brief stop made me even more excited to explore this city when I’m there for the weekend of my half marathon.

About that…
My half marathon is only 1,5 week away and I couldn’t be more excited! It’s the second time I’ll run a half marathon and I’m hoping to get a personal record on race day. As I mentioned before, I started training rather late for the race, but once I started, I gave it my everything. I ran a 10k in Manhattan Beach last Saturday because a girl I follow on Instagram told me that that race was the perfect little prep for our Nike Women’s Half Marathon on October 19th. I finished the 10k in 53 minutes straight, which I felt great about. I was the 15th of my age group, the 217th woman out of 1689 and the 849th overall runner out of more than 3300 runners. I had a constant pace of about 8:30, which was good and didn’t have to stop once.

I’ll go down to San Fran on Friday night and explore the city the whole day on Saturday and a little more on Sunday after the race. Wish me luck guys!

Are any of you guys running the #werunsf race on October 19th? Be sure to follow me on Instagram to get all my running pictures and updates! (@juliecrombe)
