I can’t believe that it’s May already. The past couple of months have flown by and I’m kinda freaking out that my half marathon is coming up next Saturday. I’m going to run 13.1 miles and I hope I can do it in less than 2 hours.
I was in really good shape and was following a great running schedule until I had to take a break about 2 weeks ago because my body was just too tired. I was weightlifting only for 2 weeks, so the running went a little backwards ever since. Have you ever experienced that feeling when you are having long days, without any me-time? Everything just became a little too much for a little while. Waking up at 5:30 or 6 in the morning to run, trying to be home by the time the baby wakes up, taking care of Slaiden, going to school, coming home at 9 and doing homework… I can’t really describe how exhausted I felt, but I just HAD to take a break. Anyway I ran 7 miles this week one time and it was so hard and I hurt my leg, so things are not going as smoothly as I had wished for.
I am really motivated though to do the best I can next week and to reward myself with lots of wine afterwards, as this run takes place in the wine country.
