Warrior Dash

Last week, I finished the Warrior Dash in San Dimas and I must admit that I loved this run! Even though it was only a 5k it was really hard for me, because the whole run was uphill. Normally I don’t like to run 5k’s anymore, because they are not a challenge to me. I’m at a point in my training that I don’t want to pay a lot of money for a race that’s done in less than 25 minutes. This run was amazing though, because it had lots of really cool obstacles.

Not only did we have to jump over fire as you can see in the picture. We also had to swim from one side to the other in a lake, we had to climb on obstacles, hang on things, run up hills, crawl under obstacles while laying down, go off a slide to end in a mud pool, keep our balance on tiny pieces of wood in order to get to the next obstacle and of course we had to swim in a mud pool too.

I love getting dirty. I remember going to the girl scouts with my sisters when I was little and I remember that after playing there for a whole afternoon, my mom would pick us up and she would have the car fully covered, because we would be all muddy or painted, or we would have eggs and other dirty stuff in our hair. I loved it then and the kid in me still loves it today! 😉

This was also the first race where I won a medal. Ok, everyone who finishes gets one, but I really wanted a medal and was pretty disappointed that I didn’t get one of the previous races I did here in the US.

What do you think of this amazing action shot that they took of me while jumping over the fire? I think it’s amazing! I feel so cool now! 😉 Have you ever done a race like this? How did you like it? Was it challenging?

(Check out my instagram (@juliecrombe) to see how I looked after the race! I was all covered in mud)

Great photos! I did a mud run last year, similar to the warrior dash and it was so much fun! It’s nice to change it up a little from time to time and get a bit messy instead of the usual marathon training.

I love this race. I ran my first one last year, and I’m doing it again this year. It was in fact my first 5K ever, so I started out with a bang. It was still tough enough for me, but I don’t run a lot and I’m slow when I do. It was just about getting out there for me, and now I’m hooked. I would love to do a Tough Mudder, and its on my fitness bucket list 🙂 Great job on your part!
