Workout or warm up?

For me being fit is something really important. I have always liked working out and especially running. I remember when I just started running that distances like 5k seemed so far! I didn’t know how to start on that and thought that I would need more than an hour. Today, running a 5k is an easy run, a run that I would do on a ‘rest day’. I run 5k in 25 minutes, so for me that’s a great accomplishment. 10k’s are getting easier too, but the hard part about those is that I want to finish them within an hour. I like running rather fast, so normally that’s not such a big problem to accomplish that!

In May I’m going to run my first half marathon in Santa Barbara and I can’t wait to start training for that one! I will follow a 12-week training program and since I’ve never done something like that before, I’m sure it’s going to be a huge challenge! πŸ˜‰

What’s the longest distance you’ve ever ran?

I don’t have a certificate to be a personal trainer + I’m not the best example to follow about the food habits if you know what I mean! πŸ˜‰ If you want to lose weight you should look up a training program online! You could also do Insanity which is very intensive but really makes you lose weight! I did that for a while too and I would really recommend that! You can find all the videos on Vimeo! Good luck! πŸ˜‰

If you could do it once, I’m sure you can still do it if you really want to! Just start running with start to run or make a nice playlist with your favorite songs and run until you finish the playlist! I’m sure you’ll do great! Let me know if you reached the 5k! πŸ˜‰

Julie, I used to run as well. My longest run was 6 miles. Now the back and knees won’t allow for running. Enjoy this for as long as you can! There is nothing more freeing, other then riding a bike, then running.

And good for you for training for a marathon! Very impressive!
